EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – Heritage Thermal Services employees were honored to host U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson for a tour of our facility on Sept. 14. Upon arriving, he took time to meet with employees who served in the U.S. military and to present them with a certificate commemorating their service.
The congressman, who represents Ohio’s 6th Congressional District, also presented a U.S. flag that had been flown over the nation’s Capitol in August. Members of the Tri-State Burial Group were on hand to raise the Stars & Stripes, while the East Liverpool High School Choir sang the National Anthem.
Afterwards, the Burial Group provided a 21-gun salute and concluded the brief ceremony with a bugler playing “Taps.” Rep. Johnson then offered a few remarks, telling the veterans and students, “The reason they served, the reason I served for 26 years, is so you can have a future.” The congressman is a retired U.S. Air Force officer and is a staunch advocate for military veterans.
Thanks to Rep. Johnson for taking time to see our operation firsthand and for paying tribute to our veterans. We greatly appreciate his visit, as well as his service to our country.
