It’s National Intern Day, and we chatted with a few of the Heritage Environmental Services interns about their experience working in several different areas of our business. Heritage interns get to jump into the projects our teams are working on, building skills and experience firsthand. In addition to providing hands-on job training, the Heritage Group offers interns with mentors and events, ranging from resume building workshops to experiences at different operating companies. Omar Adley is interning with our Administration team, and one of his favorite projects has been working on environmental justice research. Omar says he loves the people and work culture, and would describe his coworkers as “professional, neighborly, and kind.” He especially enjoyed the resume and interviewing workshop held by the Heritage Group.
Grace Kidwell, working with the Marketing team, collaborates on a variety of projects, from design and social media to photography and video production, where she is currently working on the pre-production of a safety video for our operations team. Grace said, “My favorite part about working for Heritage is the variety in my day-to-day job functions. I get to work on projects in programs or mediums that I never would have before. My internship has helped teach me initiative and to own the assignments I get. I want to deliver a product that I can be proud of.”
Additionally, she really appreciates her intern mentor, who regularly checks in and communicates all the important information about upcoming events.
Cole Klabunde, an intern in our Administration department, works alongside executive leadership on several projects. His favorite project so far has been the opportunity to partner with a startup. His favorite part about working for Heritage is the network within the company and the connections he’s made.
