EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – Although winter’s first storm is on the way, it’s not too early to think spring. With environmental projects in mind, Heritage Thermal Services wants local schools and non-profit groups to know that applications for environmental grants are now available.
Grants in amounts ranging from $100 to possibly $1000 are available for projects that demonstrate a benefit for the local environment. Schools and non-profit groups within a 15-mile radius of the facility are welcome to apply. A total of $6,000 is available this year, up from $5,000 in recent years.
Applications are available by clicking Environmental Grant Application or by calling 330.386.2194. March 25 is the deadline to apply. Grants will be awarded during this year’s citySweep collection of household hazardous waste at Heritage Thermal Services on April 23.
Since the company first distributed grants in 1998, schools and community groups have received a total of $73,775 through this program. Last year, 18 organizations received grants ranging from $150 to $1,000.
