EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – How much is a Facebook Like worth? While the social-media world debates the question, a Like for a Heritage company’s Facebook page was worth $501 for a community center located in the city’s East End.
As likes for the Heritage Thermal Services (HTS) Facebook site approached 500 in recent weeks, the company quietly decided to mark the event with a donation to the first non-profit organization associated with reaching that milestone. Like 501 was posted the day before Thanksgiving by Robert Brock, Jr., an ordained minister and retired administrator from East Liverpool City Hospital. Brock and his wife, Margaret, have supported the food-pantry program at the Community Resource Center (CRC) for many years.
HTS followed through with its internal pledge and presented the CRC with a $501 check for its food pantry, which helps those in need in the community. Company employees also volunteer at the center’s monthly food-distribution event.
