EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – Heritage Thermal Services (Heritage) has received a certificate of sustainability from the nation’s largest supplier of reusable containers in the United States. The certificate credits the company for repurposing reconditioned containers instead of using new ones.
“Industrial Container Services is pleased to present the certificate to Heritage, recognizing the environmental benefits resulting from your choice to purchase reconditioned industrial packaging in 2013.” Calvin Lee, the CEO of ICS said.
“We sincerely appreciate your choice to purchase a more sustainable package. Your purchases in 2013 avoided 48 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.”
Heritage repurposed more than 160,000 reconditioned containers to repack waste materials in 2013. Repurposing containers is just one part of the company’s robust sustainability program. The company further reduces its environmental impact by recycling a variety of scrap metals, cardboard, paper and plastic.
Heritage also helps improve the local environment through its annual citySweep collection of household hazardous wastes from area residents. Since the first collection in1997, company employees have diverted 142 tons of household hazardous wastes and old electronics from landfills or improper disposal. The local environment is cleaner and greener because of this effort.
